Officers were elected for a one-year term at the Cornhusker Power Board meeting on January 19, 2009.
Ray Merrell, St. Edward, was elected president. He has served on the Board since January 1985. Ray is a retired farmer. He represents customers in Subdivision Three which includes Boone, Southeast Manchester and Southwest Manchester townships, all in Boone County and Woodville Township in Platte County. Merrell is a graduate of the University of Nebraska and is currently president of the Nebraska Rural Electric Association.
Glen Pfeifer, Lindsay, was elected vice-president. He has over 21 years of service on the Board. Pfeifer represents customers in Subdivision Five. He and his wife farm west of Lindsay and operate a hog operation. He represents customers in Walker, Saint Bernard, Granville, Humphrey, Creston and Joliet townships all in Platte County, excluding the villages of Cornlea, Humphrey, Lindsay, Newman Grove and Creston. Pfeifer is a Nebraska Director on the Mid-West Electric Consumer Association.
Robert (Butch) L. Gray Jr., Albion, was elected secretary. He was selected for the Board in April 2004. He is employed with Gray’s Trucks and Farm Inc. He and his family own a trucking business. He also raises row crops and has a cow/calf operation. He represents Cornhusker customers in Subdivision Two, which includes North Branch, Shell Creek, Oakland Manchester and Bonanza townships in Boone County.
Andy Daniels, Columbus, was elected treasurer. Daniels began director duties in January 2005. He represents Subdivision Six which includes Monroe, Oconee, Loup, Butler, and Columbus West townships all in Platte County, excluding the city of Columbus and villages of Monroe and Duncan. Daniels has a Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy and agriculture economics from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. He and his wife farm south of Monroe. They specialize in growing fresh market vegetables.
