Cornhusker Power Customers Give $3,700 to Help Their Communities
Cornhusker Power Goodwill Fund trustees awarded $3,700 to 25 organizations at the February 9 meeting.
Cornhusker Power General Manager Ron Hostetter said, “Since the program’s inception in 1999, $203,001.45 has been distributed to many worthwhile projects. We encourage customers to round up their electric bill to help their community.”
- In Albion, Boone Central Post Prom received $50 for prizes; Boone Central Schools received $200 to screen and train mentors.
- In Cedar Rapids, Cedar Rapids Post Prom received $50 for prizes; Cedar Rapids Senior Center received $200 for divided serving dishes with lids.
- In Clarkson, St. John Neumann School received $300 for learning materials and supplies.
- In Columbus, North Star Region 4 Inc. received $200 for a computer; St. John’s Lutheran School, $250 for maps; Scotus Central High School Post Prom, $50 for prizes; TeamMates Mentoring Program, $200 for background checks; and Youth for Christ Columbus, Inc, $200 for laptop computer technology.
- In Fullerton, Fullerton Post Prom received $50 for prizes.
- In Genoa, Pawnee Senior Center received $200 for tables.
- In Howells, Howells Post Prom received $50 for food and entertainment.
- In Humphrey, Humphrey Community Foundation received $200 for a variable speed pump; Humphrey High School Post Prom, $50 for prizes; and Humphrey St. Francis Post Prom, $50 for food and prizes.
- In Leigh, Leigh Panther Post Prom received $50 for games.
- In Lindsay, Holy Family School received $200 for a television.
- In Monroe, Monroe Rural Fire and Rescue Department received $300 for computer software.
- In St. Edward, St. Edward Post Prom received $50 for prizes.
- In Schuyler, P.A.D.R.E. Post Prom received $50 for prizes and Colfax County Senior Center, $200 for a printer.
- In Spalding, Spalding Academy School received $300 for a slicer; Spalding Academy Post Prom, $50 for prizes; Spalding Senior Center, $200 for a refrigerator.
