Cornhusker Public Power District is a not-for-profit electric distribution utility that sells electricity at cost to rural portions of Platte, Colfax, Boone, Nance, Greeley, Wheeler, and Merrick counties (see map of coverage area). Headquartered in Columbus with service centers located in Albion and Fullerton, we serve over 10,000 customers with electricity for their residence, industry, agriculture or commercial purposes.
Cornhusker Public Power District’s large industrial customers receive outstanding service and low-cost power rates that are among the lowest in the nation. Fortune 500 companies are located in our service area, in part because of our outstanding service.
The mission of Cornhusker Public Power District is to safely provide our customers with quality electric and customer service that is competitively priced. Cornhusker Public Power District will continue to develop load management techniques and marketing programs that improve load factor. It is further the mission to improve the quality of life to individuals by striving to bring economic development and other services to the area through participation in area development. This will be accomplished with a highly trained and efficient staff in conjunction with well-informed customers.
